Traction Motor Service, Inc. Announces James Evans as Co-owner/Vice President/Director of Operations
North Huntington, Pa., Oct. 16, 2006 – Traction Motor Service, Inc. (TMS), a full-service railroad motor repair center, announces that James Evans has become a 50 percent, full partner at TMS and also takes over as Vice President/Director of Operations.
“We’re all excited about what Jim will bring to the table as a co-owner of TMS,” says Joe Hantz, co-owner and President of TMS. “Jim’s an exceptional leader with extensive experience in manufacturing management and engineering.”
Prior to joining TMS, Mr. Evans spent more than 30 years in manufacturing and consulting for a variety of companies, much of that in the mass transit and rail sector. In addition to transit and rail-related specialties, his areas of expertise include steel fabrication and AC/DC motors.
TMS, located 20 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, specializes in the electro-mechanical repairing, rebuilding, rewinding and remanufacturing of AC and DC traction motors and generators used in mainline, mass transit and secondary industrial rail applications. The company’s other services include machining, computer balancing, rotor repair and core loss analysis. TMS also sells surplus equipment.
